Alex Pestell's review of Hill's Collected Critical Writings (OUP, 2008) was recently published in Textual Practice 22.3 (University of Sussex, 2008). Here is an excerpt: "The emerging key texts of cultural studies, with their dual focus on high culture and working-class culture, are a detectable presence, both in the volume's endnotes and more generally in Hill's commitment to a socially-orientated criticism."
